Microcurrent Therapy

Your body has a natural electrical current that provides intercellular communication through electromagnetic signaling. When you have an injury, this signaling is disrupted or diminished. Without the proper electromagnetic signals, your cells cannot do their job efficiently. Microcurrent therapy helps to restore your electromagnetic field back to normal, thus allowing your injured cells to repair themselves. This leads to healing and prevention of re-injury.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a method of stimulating the tissue beneath the skin's surface using very high frequency sound wave. There are three primary benefits to ultrasound. The first is the speeding up of the healing process from the increase in blood flow in the treated area. The second is the decrease in pain from the reduction of swelling and edema. The third is softening of fibrous tissue via gentle massage to the treated area.

Cold Laser - Also known as low level laser or light therapy

Laser treatments emit light energy which passes through the layers of skin and reaches the target area, it is absorbed and interacts with the light sensitive elements in the cell. This process can be compared to photosynthesis in plants - sunlight is absorbed by plants, which is then converted to usable energy so that the plant can grow.

When cells absorb this light energy, it initiates a series of events in the cell that is theorized to normalize damaged or injured tissue.

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Muscle Stimulation Therapy delivers a painless electrical current through the patient's skin to specific nerves and muscles. The current produces mild muscle contractions to relieve stiffness and pain and helps to improve range of motion (mobility). It may be used to control acute pain and chronic pain. The goals of this treatment are to build basic tone and strength in weakened muscles and to force the contraction of these muscles in a coordinated pattern to strengthen the cognitive link between the brain and the movements.

Biofreeze Roll On

Biofreeze Pain Relieving Roll-On provides a number of unique features. The roller ball allows for product application without the need to use your hands also providing a nice massage for soft tissue wherever you apply product, and can be used in trigger point therapy.

Biofreeze products help break this pain cycle, by relieving pain through a method known as "Gate Control," or "gating." In the gating process, menthol acts to stimulate specific sensory receptors in the skin, thereby blocking other receptors from sending pain signals to the brain.

Biofreeze products provide temporary relief from minor aches and pains of sore muscles and joints associated with simple backache, arthritis, bruises, strains and sprains.

Custom Foot Orthotics

The Powerstep Protech Control full length orthotic insole offers a firm but flexible arch support and a deeper heel cup with a 2-degree medial post for improved foot control and positioning. Double layer, shock absorbing cushioning for enhanced comfort. A Poron® heel pad enhances the orthotic insert's cushioning and protection. Suitable for use in athletic shoes and roomier dress and casual shoes.

Ideal for controlling mild to severe overpronation and for alleviating pain associated with plantar fasciitis, metatarsal pain, heel or arch pain and other common foot conditions. Powerstep orthotics are available for $30.
